Ritz-Carlton Residence

This unit at the Ritz-Carlton was transformed from its rather bland finishes and cramped configuration to an exciting and sophisticated home for an empty-nesters. The original layout did not take full advantage of the commanding views of Back Bay and the Boston Common from the main living spaces. The redesign including opening the kitchen up to the view and creating a better flow throughout the unit. Walls of stone and wood complement the walls of glass and along with built-in millwork give character to spaces that were previously not well defined. From the paneled foyer to the expansive living spaces to the bedrooms, a neutral palette was used to tie the apartment together in a sense of overall calm, a true escape from the busy city below.
